On May 20th - 21st, 2005 an International Meeting on for the prevention of the installation of new Nuclear Plants took place in Rhodes, at the University of the Aegean, with participants scientists, journalists and organizations from Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria and Cyprus.

The International Meeting was organized by the Mediterranean Anti-Nuclear Watch, the Prefecture of Dodekanese, the Local Union of Municipalities of the Dodekanese and the Technical Chamber of Greece/Dodekanese Dep.. In the frameworks of the International Meeting "Rhodes Appeal" was adopted; a petition in favor of the disengagement of mankind from the self-destroying usage of nuclear power and weapons.
